Looking for the chicest spots in London? Sorry ladies! The velvet ropes are up this time and you’re not getting in without a paid membership (or at least a distant royal bloodline). London is the home of private members clubs and for all intense and purposes are the place to see and be seen.
Here are just a few of my favourites.
The easiest way to separate the social elite with the poseurs is whether or not the answer to the question “Have you been to the Chiltern Firehouse?” is yes! Notoriously tricky to book a reservation, the Chiltern Firehouse is my Saturday night haunt. Perfect for a girls evening out the relaxed atmosphere and gourmet menu makes CF London’s restaurant du jour.
So selective about who becomes a member, that even Kim K couldn’t get approved at Soho House LA (Don’t worry Kim, you can be my guest). A regular retreat for the fashion and media elite Soho House regularly purges its members to make sure it has the right balance of people, of course, I’m still on the list.
Scott’s is invariable a London institution. Deals are done here. Affairs are started and finished at its tables and gossiped about at others nearby. Reputations are judged, scores kept and settled. Sensitive information is both leaked and listened to… Oh and the oysters are to die for.
Annabel’s really needs no introduction. This chic club is known around the world for its elegance, style and an exclusive clientele that has included the Queen, Frank Sinatra and, of course, myself. I love the intimate cocktail bar and dining room, but I’m most often seen on the starlit dance floor.
One of London’s newer private dining clubs, Coya is simply faultless, has won my heart and my palate. The delicious Peruvian cuisine and Coya one of London’s best kept secrets.
